India legalized Weed! Yes, kind of. Maybe.

What is Weed?Cannabis is a popular drug among youngsters which is derived from a Indian hemp plants. The main active chemical which is found in cannabis is THC (delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol). THC is responsible for all the effects of cannabis. Cannabis is proven to be a depressant drug. A depressant drug do not necessarily makes a person feel low or depressed. It just slows down the activity of the central nervous system and fetching of messages between the brain and the body. Large doses of Cannabis can also cause hallucinogenic effects.

Weed synonym

While Cannabis got big range of effects on the body. Generally it was used for entertainment, spiritual or for the fulfilment of cultural beliefs. But now-a-days it is being used for medical purpose as well. Proving it to be a Magic Herb. In India, it’s not about its calming effects only, but it’s also connected to cultural beliefs hidden under the curtain of Taboo.  Marijuana is illegal in India, but it has deep routes connected to the ancient times. In Hinduism, God Shivaya is stated as one of the greatest Cannabis user. Shiva is one of the Hindu religion’s Prime trio of Gods. According to ancient texts, Shiva used to smoke marijuana before mediation which enabled him to relax and focus. Shiva followers often try to mimic him also by consuming cannabis before doing meditation.

The area between 30 to 50 degrees latitude is defined as the most suitable for this type of Cannabis. Effects on the body: Cannabis Indica has wide range of effects on the body. THC activates pleasure centers in the brain which releases Dopamine. In results it makes the consumer much lightheaded, happy and relaxed. Basically, it has sedating and relaxing effects on the body. If weed is taken in heavy unusual amount it can cause impairment of attention, memory and perception temporarily. Your sense of time may become distorted due to Marijuana’s effect on altering blood flow to cerebellum. Marijuana or Cannabis has number of health effects as well:
    • Marijuana activates hypothalmus which can increase your appetite.
    • Altered peripheral vision is a common effect.
    • Eyes can become bloodshot as the blood vessels get expanded.
    • Endocannabinoid Anandamide in Marijuana can lower men’s sperm count.
    • Heart rate may increase by 20-50 beats per minute.

10% population of Jamaica enjoys the ‘Joint’ culture and luckily it’s been legalized recently. 10% of Australia is on the trail of ‘Rebel-ism’ and consuming Marijuana in one way or another. 10% of Spanish people enjoy smoking Marijuana, while it’s distribution is illegal to the public. But the best part is, it’s personal use is absolutely acceptable. 12% of Canada knows how to mold rules on their own term while enjoying Cannabis smoke. It’s legal for medical use while it’s illegal for recreational use, though it’s acceptable anyway. At a whopping 14% of the population of Nigeria uses Marijuana although it’s completely illegal. Still Nigeria knows how to enjoy this weed culture hidden under the shrug and law illegally.
